01The starting point

In a technical category where engineering firms and technical buyers research thoroughly before they shortlist, the brand wanted to be present and accurately described in AI answers, and to see that presence translate into qualified traffic. Technical accuracy mattered: the engines had to get the specifications and category right, or risk steering buyers elsewhere.

Across the tracked prompts and the five named AI engines, the brand reached:

  • Brand Mention Coverage of 40.56%.
  • Citation Rate of 34.44%, a relatively high citation-to-mention ratio, meaning that when the brand was named it was often sourced as well.
  • Average AI Ranking of 4.01.
  • AI Share of Voice of 10.29% against the tracked set.

By platform, coverage was strongest on Google AI Overviews at 72.2%, Google AI Mode at 58.3% and Perplexity at 47.2%. The visibility also converted into qualified traffic: 1,158 AI sessions, up 157.33 percent year on year, with 647 engaged sessions, up 157.77 percent, at a 55.87 percent engagement rate.

The ratio between citation and mention is the figure to note: a citation rate of 34 percent against a mention rate of 41 percent means most mentions came with a source, the marker of credible rather than passing presence.
